Working to beat cancer sooner
As you know we held our Relay 2021 virtually this year again with a little more freedom for people to meet up than last year. I am thrilled to let you know that, despite the Covid pandemic, we have currently raised a fantastic amount of £20 757 so far this year, giving a total of £41 757 in the two years 2020 and 2021.
The Committee and I would like to thank you all so much for your donations and brilliant fundraising over the last few months. It isn’t too late to do some more fundraising over the next few weeks, especially leading up to the celebrations for 25 years since Relay for Life started in the UK. We are planning several different things for this event in late September and will be letting you know more about this shortly.
I also wonder if any of you have money that you have raised which you perhaps put on one side during the pandemic when we weren’t able to meet for real team meetings. Carrie has said that she is more than happy to come to you to collect any bags of money which you have in your house. Of course you can pay this into our bank account or onto your own page on the Relay for Life Liskeard CRUK website. We are both happy to count up the money and bag it if you haven’t had a chance to do this so far. But please can you let us have your money. Cancer Research UK, together with many other charities, have really suffered this year and last from lack of funds.
Please contact me on 07985102666 or on email@example.com if you have any questions or would like us to collect your fundraising.
We have already achieved so much that it would be great if we could get to a total nearer to £25 000 between us all, this would give a total of 25K in the 25th year of Relay for Life.
Looking forward to being able to meet up again very soon.

Relay For Life song update
Last month we saw Luke Middleton from Relay For Life Liskeard release his Relay For Life song to spread the word of Relay across the UK and to reach the UK Top 100 chart.
Unfortunately, the song didn’t get into the Top 100, but it did have a fantastic impact in the Relay For Life community and across the UK! We heard several plays on the radio (including an interview with Luke), thousands of streams across online platforms, lots of purchases of the song and additional fundraising and donations which has raised crucial funds for life-saving research. As well as that, it has spread the word of Relay across the UK which will raise awareness for the incredible work you do.
We’re waiting for the final data and income reports from the music distributor and we hope to share those with you next month.
We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who got behind Luke’s song, whether that was purchasing it, streaming it, sharing it or just being excited by it – and a massive thank you to Luke himself! The song is still (and will continue to be) available to stream and purchase and is available on social media platforms and every play will continue to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Luke has kindly agreed to give live performances of the song at virtual events, dependent on availability. If you would like to find out more information,
please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Relay For Life
Relay For Life is a family festival celebrating the power of community fundraising in the fight to beat cancer.
Teams fundraise for life-saving cancer research then unite at a weekend-long festival to celebrate and remember everyone who has been affected by cancer. The festival is focused around a 24-hour relay where team members take it in turns to walk around a track to show that together we will beat cancer.
